The brief for this cabinet was to create a piece of furniture that was functional with a restrained exterior but with a dramatic interior.

 

The exterior is made from highly figured sycamore with applewood detailing

The deep drawers are designed for the storage of linen and are lined with cedar. Above the drawers is a brushing slide inlaid with a knot garden design.

 

The doors open to reveal an architectural fantasy with a mirrored back made using ten different woods including satinwood, pear and ebony.

 

And yes, there is a (very) secret drawer.
